A worldwide food crisis that has an impact on distribution and production in Malaysia. Students in higher education can be affected by the current cost of living crisis, adding even more stress and affecting students' wellbeing and academic performance. Food price increases are affecting many people in Malaysia, particularly students from low-income families.

Based on this fact, my teammates and I made a little food bank project named Grow Organic Project. In this project, we planted two types of different vegetables specially for students in Mahallah Zaid Bin Harithah to consume more nutritious food to maintain a healthy life.

Grow Organic Project is a project which follows 2 goals in Sustainable Development Goals which is Goal No.1, No Poverty and Goals No.2, Zero Hunger.  This project aims to ensure that everyone, particularly students at IIUM Pagoh, has enough nutritious food to live a healthy lifestyle. However, we want to ensure that we can help improve the living standards of the campus community in Kulliyyah Language and Management, IIUM Pagoh, through this project. We chose this food bank project because it is enjoyable and simple to implement on campus, and it is highly relevant to the needs of the community, including students who struggle to get enough food due to a variety of factors.

One of the many advantages of growing our own planted vegetables is that we are less likely to take or waste things like vegetables for granted. It's also possible that some of it will be saved, or that you'll use it all up before it spoils. To summarize, growing a vegetable is not only a fun and enjoyable activity, but it's also an excellent way to teach them the value of minimizing waste and making the most of nature's gifts.

During this project, we also make sure that we make it eco-friendly. So, we tried to use our own recycled material as much as we could. In the end, we make pots from our unused water bottle to plant the vegetables.

Handling this project is fun and also challenging as we need to make sure the vegetables grow well. However, this is our attempt to make a sustainable project that is able to help students and the environment better.
